Travelling, blogging and learning to fly
This is some background to my guest post written for Leanne at Cresting the Hill.
Travelling
You may, (or may not), know that I’m currently travelling overseas with my husband. We’re on the last legs of our amazing 3 month Odyssey, which has taken us to England, Iceland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Scotland and France. It’s been brilliant to be able to base ourselves with our eldest daughter in England and just pop in and out. Travelling with her to Iceland was an amazing experience!

Blogging
Along the way I’ve managed to meet many wonderful blogging friends, which has been a lovely bonus. It all started with the Annual Bloggers Bash Awards in London where I met heaps of my blogging buddies in person and since then I’ve met many more amazing bloggers, like Lucille, Suzanne, Tiina.

Learning to fly
I’ve also done a few things that have been way outside my comfort zone during this time. This included doing a zip wire flyover, which was pretty amazing since I’m scared of heights!

Putting it all together
So when Leanne, from Cresting the Hill, asked me to write a guest post for her Social Saturday series, I decided to try to tie some of these experiences together.
Leanne’s blog is great! I love her thought provoking and insightful posts, mainly aimed at the midlife demographic, but that’s not to say the information is limited to that particular age group!! Check it out for yourself 🙂

My guest post – Travelling, Blogging and learning to fly
I’m reminded of a fabulous poem written by Erin Hanson:
There is freedom waiting for you,
On the breezes of the sky,
And you ask ‘What if I fall?’
Oh, but my darling,
What if you fly?
This sums up my thought processes about this guest post just perfectly!
I learnt to fly!
I hope you enjoy reading my guest post 😊 Feel free to leave a comment for us especially if you can relate to something I’ve mentioned in the post.

I only recently heard about the Eden Project zipline. If I’m near there on my next trip I’m definitely going to do it. Good on you for reaching for the sky.

Yes we did bring you some great weather didn’t we? Now that we’re off home in a few days it’s started to rain down here, which is sorely needed as it’s so dry. I have so many great memories of this trip I don’t know where to start when someone asks for my favourite bit 😊

Top five? Top five things you can’t believe about the British these days?

Top one is how they complain about the rainy cold weather then complain about all the hot weather when it gets a bit warm. Never satisfied 😜 I’ll get thinking about the other 4 😂

I clicked over to the guest post, and I think it’s great you convinced your family to meet Lucile! From just her words, I also feel like she’d be a fun person to be with. My husband has no online presence (beyond LinkedIn I guess), and it was hard for him to understand that one could honestly and truly make a friend there! Glad yours came around – I keep saying next time I meet Lisa in an anchorage, I’ll have my husband in tow!

Thanks for reading and commenting Lex, it was a bit of a big ask at the time but we got there in the end! My husband doesn’t have an online presence either so is very suspicious. Good luck for next time 🙂
