A sun room, conservatory, orangerie, glasshouse, greenhouse, garden room, polycarbonate room – call it what you will – it is my favourite room at this time of the year.
It is winter here in Australia and our sun room in the back yard is an ideal place to sit, relax, read, chat, drink tea, listen to music, soak up the winter sunshine and heat. It is light, comfortable, and about 25-30 degrees celcius in the middle of the day whereas the outside temperature is about 10-15 degrees. I love having this space to escape to.
We also grow vegetables and flowers in our sun room!!

Now that looks like a beautiful room to cozy up in. I like that you have added all of the different names of such a rooms as it really does seem to differ around the world.

What a great place to relax, although I admit I was thinking that in summer it must be rather hot. 🙂 But perfect for the pool as you say.

Thanks Janet, you’re right, it is a perfect place to relax. It makes me stop being so busy at times so that I can just sit & enjoy it. I especially love how light it is as inside the house can be so dark on wintery days. I’m very lucky!!

Thanks, it’s great! I must admit to pinching the idea from friends in Denmark and UK. It does get a bit hot in the middle of summer though, and becomes the pool room 🙂
