Every day is an adventure – 66/365

When every day life gets you down, have an adventure!

red flowerI read an article in a newspaper recently that promoted the idea of seeing beauty in the every day – Day 64/365. We always seem too busy to notice the little things but it’s these things that help us to slow down. I’m doing the exact same thing by looking for the adventure in the every day. I like to think that my every day is an adventure project is an example of both these things – beauty and adventure!

I’m currently visiting my parents who live in the north of our state, (I’m much further down south), and the difference in the weather and the flowers are amazing.  I’m enjoying both the warmth and the delightful colours of the plants, not to mention being able to spend some time with my parents! This flower is an example of the beauty that abounds in the every day.  I admit to having some fun playing with the editing of this one.

You can click here for all my Every day photo project photos in one place.

I’m also submitting this to Sally D’s Mobile Photography Challenge as this week is all about macro photographs.  I used my iphone5 for this photo (in fact all my photos are taken on my phone) and used the macro feature.  I then edited it much more than I normally do, with the contrast, colour, and sharpness bringing about this delightful result (well I think it’s delightful anyway).  I also used a vignette to tone down the background so that the flower stands out so much.

I’d love to hear what you think.

Deb 🙂

    1. Thanks Janet. It’s a great way to just ‘see’ things isn’t it and appreciate the beauty in everyday things. I’m glad to hear that you also enjoy walks with plenty of stops for photo opportunities. I’m trying to run a few times a week but keep wanting to stop to take photos!

      1. I use “Map My Walk” and was thrilled to find a “Pause” button. That way I can both keep track of how far and how fast I’m walking and take time for photos as well. Unless things are really bad, I never make it without stopping any number of times. I make up for it by walking very, very fast the rest of the time!

        1. Yes I use a similar app called runkeeper which I’ve set to automatically pause whenever I stop moving. Makes my times look much more reasonable😀 Thanks Janet.

    1. I’m so glad you are enjoying it! It’s a great way to really see the world around us isn’t it and to slow down to appreciate it all. I like to use mundane things too as you’ll have noticed. 😊
