A new challenge I’ve just discovered courtesy of Sacha Black. The challenge is to write something using the weekly theme in just 52 words…. EXACTLY 52 words, no more, no less. As it’s Sacha’s birthday, the theme this week is The Big Birthday.
The Big Birthday by Debbie Harris
A big birthday means a big party
A surprise organised by your children
And supported by your husband
A weekend away with family
Not one surprise but two!
Happiness overload
The smile doesn’t leave your face
Birthdays are fun regardless of your age
It means you are still here alive and kicking!

Note: This just happens to be a true story but I believe the challenge can include any sort of writing. It’s actually quite hard to limit it to 52 words. Back in 2014 I used to do a weekly wrap up called 5 seconds on a Friday limiting myself to 50 words or less for the week’s happenings – now that was hard!!

You did a great job, Deb, and welcome to the challenge. It’s tough with only being allowed to use 52 words, but it does make you think. I’ve not participated every week because I’ve not been able to come up with anything, but there are a few writers who always come up with some great posts.
