Writespiration – is a challenge courtesy of Sacha Black. The challenge is to write something using the weekly theme in just 52 words…. EXACTLY 52 words, no more, no less. It’s harder than it seems, I can assure you!
This week the topic is to write about The Girl that wore the black hood. Here’s my offering:
The Girl in the black hood
She walked out of the room
And kept walking.
The weather was stifling,
She wasn’t taking off her hoodie,
Not for all the tea in China.
She left behind a broken man
A family in disarray
A special day gone awry.
For underneath her black hoodie
Was a beautiful white wedding dress.
It just so happens that at this very moment I am visiting my youngest daughter and we are working through her wedding plans! She was a bit concerned at my story but I assured her it was just what popped into my head at the time!
I look forward to seeing how others have interpreted this one. I’d love to know what you think of my 52 word story!
Deb 🙂

Thanks very much, it was fun! Except my daughter and her fiancé were a bit shocked when I read it to them, as we are planning the wedding as we speak!!

I know!! She was wondering if I was trying to tell her anything but it just came to me as I sat and wrote it out. I have to manually count every word to ensure I don’t go over the 52 words!! Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
