Document a gathering and share your interpretation….
This is my interpretation of a gathering for this week’s photo challenge. I love a good cup of tea and at a recent gathering we noticed that the tea pots looked like they were having their very own meeting. (Apologies for the poor photo quality of this one).
I also decided that they look like something from Dr Who (think Daleks about to say exterminate, exterminate, exterminate).
Or do I just have an overactive imagination????
I know the real purpose of this prompt is for the upcoming holiday season but I decided to use my own whacky take on it – just for a change!
Here’s another whacky gathering:

This photo was taken last week (not by me) as part of my birthday celebrations (I’m the one in the middle of the front row). We queued for over an hour to dress up and have our Awkward family portrait taken! My husband, my sister and brother in law, my daughter and son in law all agreed to participate in this just because I wanted it for my birthday!! It’s hard to get away from Christmas things when your birthday is in December so sometimes it’s easier to just go with the flow!
In Australia we don’t get snow at Christmas (usually), we don’t wear funny/ugly jumpers and we don’t usually look like this at Christmas. But it was a fun way to document a family gathering and we laughed for ages every time we looked at the photos. Thanks to Awkward Portraits by Karin Locke for the great idea and letting us share our awkwardness with you all.
Here’s a link to see how others have interpreted the theme Gathering.
I’m taking a break from all things on-line over the holiday season so I’ll see you all in the new year!
Happy holidays to you all – wherever you are and whatever you are are doing.

My thoughts exactly!! They were all such good sports doing it for me. We had a great laugh at ourselves 😊😊

Love the family photo, Deb… what a great idea!
I feel sorry for the teapot lower centre screen, though… to me, it appears to want to ‘get in’, but is being blocked by the other teapots! Overactive imaginations are the way forward!

I know what you mean Tom, I was a bit concerned about that one myself. I love the family portrait – just so ‘wrong’ on so many levels but so much fun.
I agree we all need to give our imagination a free rein sometimes. Thanks for getting it!! 😊
