Yes it’s April Fool’s Day and I’m sharing this with you.
I think it’s funny because
- a) I’m not a genius and
- b) I no longer work

My sister-in-law gave me this framed ‘subversive cross stitch’ set as a gift some time ago and every now and again I feature some of the ‘quotes’. I always take the shots with the frame sitting on top of a faded yellow penny farthing planter in my garden. There are 16 double-sided cards to choose from and depending on my mood of the day I use them in random order.
ICYMI
During March I wrote 11 posts covering a range of topics – in case you missed it!
For What’s on Your Plate (WOYP) I sharedthe ‘pressure‘ I was under. I joined Terri’s Sunday Stills twice during the month – with a post about making memories and walks in the forest in black and white.

I’m loving my Wake Up and Be Amazing, it’s Wednesday posts – my version of Wordless Wednesday with but with words – and shared how it’s hard to feel amazing sometimes, ( a deeply reflective post about recent times), and then the next week I was top of the world when out and about and I was recognised by a reader of my blog from interstate You just never know how your words affect others. And finally I got to write a travel post again after all this time! Despite never having seen the movie Planes, trains and automobiles that’s what I called my post because well you know, planes, trains and automobiles….

I also did a Taking Stock post which is always fun to do, plus I shared some thoughts on my 10 years of blogging for Denyse’s Life Stories linkup which is every second Monday now.
It’s always interesting to share what books I’ve been reading and to see what others recommend, so I really enjoy our monthly What’s on Your Bookshelf (WOYBS) linkup and this month I did a summary on the verdict of my February post’s surprise books based on a personality quiz. I also love interacting with my co-hosts of this challenge, we have a great online bookclub and are currently reading the Classics!
One of my favourite posts from the month was my WOTY (Word of the Year) post, Is it even a Gift if you buy it for yourself, where I overcame my height anxiety and bought myself a hot air balloon ride. It was so much fun to do with my daughter.
But then there was my post We’re all Going on a Summer Holiday where I announced that I’ve booked for us to fly to England to see our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter Dottie – it’s been well over 2.5 years since we’ve seen them in person and Dottie has grown a whole heap since we last held her in January 2020. She’ll turn 3 while we’re there!
So maybe my favourite spot is a draw between these two posts!
There you have it – another month of blogging under my belt – in case you missed it!
We’re heading into Autumn down here and the temperatures have started to fall plus the leaves 🙂
Thanks for joining me and all the best to you for April.

Wonderful catch up! And love the signs too. Thank you for the blog link up shout out. Tomorrow I am off to Newcastle Writers Fest which is exciting…1, because the last one was 3 years ago (thanks Covid!) and 2, because I know you will be tuning in virtually for Trent’s session! I have no idea whether you will be able to see me but in direction contrast to my usual “bright” clothes, tomorrow my wardrobe is likely to be beige & black..because “cold” now! Happy weekend!

Congratulations on a decade of blogging! What a wonderful mark in time to celebrate while still going strong! I was on hiatus when I passed my ten year mark…so silly. Thanks for the March re-cap, you’ve been very busy, indeed! Hope you have an awesome weekend!

The “WTF” cross-stitch is so funny. I’d love to have one to keep in my pocket and flash it out when I come across WTF moments.
