Updated blog – a summer clean up while on a staycation

I am loving being on holidays! I’ll admit that I am in danger of turning into a slothful, unkempt, lazybones…yet I must admit that I’m very happy!

I sleep late (after 7am is late for me), I have a cup of tea in bed while reading or catching up on news from my various worlds; I do the bare minimum of housework; I sit around reading and drinking cups of tea or I spend time on the computer doing various things; I stay as cool as I can ’cause it’s hot out there and I eat whatever’s available when I feel like it or I don’t eat because I’m not that hungry. My husband is used to fending for himself.

We are enjoying our little ‘staycation’ – that’s where you get to stay at home for a holiday!

I do have one thing I have to do everyday and that’s either go for a run or a walk (or a combination) or, like today, a bike-ride for about an hour or so before or after the heat of the day. Then I can relax the rest of the day away. It’s a great life! Nothing I really have to do, and nowhere I really have to be. Until next week when I return to work 😞

So what have I done? I have managed to update my blog over the past few days. Please feel free to check it out.

My new theme from late last year is Traveler (we spell it with double ‘l’ here in Aus as in ‘traveller’). I like the theme layout except I don’t seem to be able to use my own photos for the header due to the size of the photo required. I’m onto a nice person at WordPress and he is helping me out. If you have any hints or comments on my blog let me know! Do you like the theme?

I’ve also updated a few of my pages – the all about me page now has 10 things you might not know about me included; the adventure and travel page lists links to various holiday posts and books we make after each trip; the books page has been updated with all my books read in 2014 and is ready for my new list for 2015; I’m now on Pinterest (not quite sure what I’m doing there but we have a wedding later this year and apparently that’s what you do!) and I have updated my join me online page to reflect this; I have updated other aspects like my Weekly Challenge page and made a new page for all my Blogging U courses – hopefully it all reads well. I’m also participating in a challenge to post a black and white photo each day for 5 days – here’s a link to Day 1 and Day 2 in case you missed them.  This has been fun trying various photos and I’m getting good at drafting and scheduling posts. So really, I have been quite busy!

Summer clean doesn’t have quite the same ring to it that spring clean does but as its high summer here I had to go with that!

Unfortunately this photo of me isn’t from my current ‘staycation’ but I like what the picture represents – freedom, youth, fun, and not a care in the world.
